Two teenage boys posted their apology on youtube, but the victim of the 32 ounce soda thrown through the drive-thru window says it’s not enough. Jessica Ceponis, says her face was clearly shown and the boys apology was scripted by their attorney. The stupid prank is called “Fire in the Hole” where a drive-thru customer receives his drink and throws it back at the drive-thru worker.

Bathtub cheese, homemade cheese made in bathtubs is spreading a rare drug resistent strain of tuberculosis. The rare strain has been traced to illegally unpasteurized diary products including tainted queso fresco cheese. Hardest hit are the Hispanic immigrants in Southern California. Fearing a comeback of this rare strain that was almost completely irradicated in the US in the 1900s.

I’m agreeing with Clint Eastwood on this one. He probably didn’t have to actually say, “Spike Lee should “shut his face” about the lack of African-Americans in “Flags of Our Fathers.” He probably could have worded it a little better, but Clint has a point. There was a small detachment of black soldiers on Iwo Jima, but none of them raised helped raise the flag. It’s history, it’s a fact. Just like the 911 memorial committee trying to make the fireman politically correct and not accurate to the people they are supposed represent. If Eastwood put a few black soldiers in the same unit, no one would have believed it. As sad as it may be, the fact is there was major segregation back then.

The Salmonella outbreak in the west adds another county in Texas to its list of confirmed salmonella poisoning from tomatoes. Even though the FDA declares that Texas and New Mexico grown tomatoes is not the source of the illnesses. Senator Larry Craig is writing a book. A book about being arrested for soliciting an undercover police officer. The Senator’s book is reportedly about how he felt about being arrested. A book about how Senator Craig felt about being ‘falsely’ accused of being gay. How the Senator felt about being treated like a criminal by the police, just because he has a wide-stance when he goes to the bathroom. The inhumanity! How can the police accuse a respected non-gay Senator that just happens to have wide stance when he’s taking a dump?
I can´t wait to read how mistreated he was and he only pleaded guilty to try and keep the entire process out of the press and keep his wife and friends out of the public eye. A book about being arrested, a book about being treated bad by the police, a book about how he´s not gay, a book about how after pleading guilty only to change his mind after the entire affair was made public, he decided to plead innocent and not gay. The Senator has been pleading not gay for many years. Just because he says it, doesn’t make it true.

Obama is not only bad for stocks, but the Obama mania is bad for any other part of the US economy, US foreign policy, US Trade policy and every industry that’s still left in the United States. McCain isn’t that much better on the economy, his major mistake was admitting he wasn’t an expert on the economy, but at least he doesn’t want to implement win-fall profit taxes, higher corporate taxes and higher taxes on the people that create the jobs in America.
A lot of the problems in the economy and the stock market is the uncertainty before any election. This time it’s much worse because the economy was on a downhill slide already. Retailers have already depleted inventory and are not restocking as much because of consumer caution. The housing market has had its ripple effect, when people aren’t buying houses, they don’t need to move or buy new stuff.

DHL Express is ditching it’s relationship with Wilmington, Ohio bsed ABX Air due to the restructuring of its air transport operations. UPS is only providing the air transport portion for DHL, everything else appears that it’s going to remain the same.
You’ll still see the yellow and red striped trucks driving around, this only affects the DHL packages from airport to airport and not DHL freight only packages.
This is surprising news because ABX had just announced a contract renewal was going to be approved later this year. I bet this is really a surprise to the 7,000 people in the Wilmington, Ohio hub and sorting facility, especially the 1500 that are slated for immediate termination.

The high price of diesel right now is only a small part of the puzzle when it comes to operating expenses when owning a truck. Every time hit a benchmark dollar amount the same arguments and complaints came out. Trucking companies and independent owner operator were being put out of business by the high price of diesel.
Which is not exactly true. The price of fuel has always been going up some time faster than others, truck insurance has always gone up, the price of tires and the price of trucks has always gone up. But the price to ship something by truck has gone up also so that trucking companies and owner operators could keep covering their expenses. Trucking companies and truck owners go out of business all of the time even in the good years for a myriad of reasons. Read the rest of this entry »
