About

I’m a 49 year old truck driver. I own my truck and trailer and have been driving cross country for about 10 years. I started out with communications gear training in the service and worked for a major airline on their reservation network. I moved back and forth from communications to programming for several years. I’ve always had a computer from the Commodore 64 and building my PC Clone and dialing out to BBS boards. I started blogging before there they called it blogging and my latest blog has been active since 2004. My business trucking blog was the number one trucking blog and it caught the attention of International Trucks and last year I was hired as the editor for their new blog. I spend way too much time on it for what they’re paying me.

My wife was co-driving with me for several years, when things started to slow down, we decided she should go back to school at 50 and finish her degree so she could get a better job and take some of the pressure off of me trying to make a living trucking when it’s getting tougher and tougher.

Last year when I was hired by International, they told me it was going to be a blog on WordPress. That was the first I heard about WordPress. I moved my blogs from Typepad.com to selfhosted Wordpress and learned everything I could. I wanted this trial project to succeed so I started learning everything I could about WordPress and SEO. After feeling that something was missing from the so-called A listers, I ran across Court and Vic and found out real people could make money doing this. During my spare time in the truck and being online at a truck stop wifi or my Verizon card I’m trying to make some money so I can be home more and not be out on the road so much.
